False Positve?

Fire Alarm went off at around 3:30 AM. Is this a false positve? Wiki says, Type I error

Type I error, also known as an "error of the first kind", an α error, or a "false positive": the error of rejecting a null hypothesis when it is actually true. Plainly speaking, it occurs when we are observing a difference when in truth there is none, thus indicating a test of poor specificity. An example of this would be if a test shows that a woman is pregnant when in reality she is not, or telling a patient he is sick when in fact he is not. Type I error can be viewed as the error of excessive credulity[1] or even hallucination. In terms of folk tales, an investigator may be "crying wolf" (setting a false alarm) without knowing it.

In other words, a Type I error means that a positive inference is actually false.

Lots of firemen came to check it out. And an ambulance. A lot of my neighbours came down and waited for the 'all clear'. I went to the all night convenience store and bought breakfast. I talked to a night manager about his job. And I got a power bar and some hot chocolate. Buy this time it was all over and here I am. It is terrible waking up to a 'false alarm'. But I am making the best of it.

Miss Abella Green

I call my Peace Lily Abella. I received her as a gift from my mother. It's kinda fun to talk to her. My mother is not someone to ignore and neither is my plant. I try to water her and keep her happy! Mom's are a little more maintenance. But we all know that. Oh, Abella.

Opinion: Bill C-32 heads to committee in a volatile political climate | The Wire Report

I'm interested in bill C-32 because it may make computer use more difficult. As a writer, I think ACTA and this bill are connected to issues that may affect my ability to negotiate a best contract for my work. And I like to stay aware of factors that make my work difficult to do.

Is the domestic honey bee a lever that is hurting the wild bee?

http://www.defenders.org/newsroom/press_releases_folder/2010/01_21_2010_wild_bumble_bees_teeter_on_brink_of_extinction.php

The article above is about the problem our domestic honey bee is causing the wild bee. Historically, the lever has helped more than it has hurt. Why is that going to change? Can we manage nature?

Are we creating a problem by over use? Are our levers too powerful? We are creating huge crops based on the domestication of bees. We overuse antibiotics on these domestic bees. Will these sick domestic bees cause serious health problems for wild bees. What are the consequences of the way we manage our domestic bees?

In life there are so many ways to live it can be hard to choose. Nesta Robert Marley will illuminate your ways.
